2,060 MW built by households, 189 MW by the grid
Off-grid solar in Syria grew from 249 MW in 2022 to 2,060 MW in 2025. Utility connected solar over the same period reached 189 MW. Roughly a quarter of Syrian households now have some solar capacity, bought at $2,500 to $4,500 a system in a country with per-capita income near $800. That is not an energy transition. It is a substitution for a grid delivering about four hours a day.
