Turkey set a target of 900 MW of direct electricity exports to Syria by the first quarter of 2026, up from around 300 MW, on a line running from Birecik to Aleppo. Separately, Azerbaijani gas has crossed at Kilis since August 2025. One corridor delivers electricity that must be consumed the instant it arrives; the other delivers fuel that can be stored and burned on demand.
